JACOB CHODAKIEWITZ, M.D. - Director, Scientific Advisory Board
Jacob Chodakiewitz, M.D. attended Universidad Nacional de Mexico from 1962-64 where he did his pre-med. He went on to medical school at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, graduating in 1970. Dr. Chodakiewitz is currently the Director of Neurological and Neurosurgical Division Magnetics at Guiding light Medical Technology in Inglewood California, Medical Director at Medicals Professionals International, and on the Board of Directors at The Parkinson's Resource Organization. Dr. Chodakiewitz has 21 years of experience performing stereotactic, neurosurgical procedures for the control of chronic intractable pain and tremor. He was principal research investigator in the FDA studies of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for tremor and chronic pain, and his work was instrumental in helping gain FDA approval of Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's in August 1997. Dr. Chodakiewitz serves as the Functional Stereotactic consultant for the Department of Neurosurgery at the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Hospitals and is the Neurosurgical Director and Pain Consultant for various international Victims of Terror organizations. Dr. Chodakiewitz is also a Qualified Medical Examiner for the State of California Worker's Compensation Board.
GREGORY A. SMITH, M.D., QME - Member, Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Gregory A. Smith, M.D., QME graduated Indiana University in 1984 with a B.A. in Biology and Chemistry. Following that, in 1988, he graduated Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Smith is the former Director of Pain Management at Harbor UCLA and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA. He formed The Comprehensive Pain Relief Group inc. in 2001 and is currently the President and Medical Director. Dr Smith is Board Certified from the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Anesthesiology Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including being named the Consumer's Research Council of America Top Pain Medicine Physician and his appointment to The National Leadership Award Physician's Advisory Board. Dr Smith has hosted his own radio show, "The Doc Smith Show," and was featured on NBC "Percutaneous Diskectomy for Low Back Pain." He has published numerous research articles and over 12 books. He is currently completing his newest book "American Addict: How Doctors have Created a Generation of Drug Addicts."
EDUARDO ANGUIZOLA, M.D. - Member, Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Eduardo Anguizola, M.D. was born in Panama in 1950. He, his wife and four children have resided in Orange County since 1989. Dr. Anguizola completed his undergraduate degree from San Vicente de Paul in David Chiriqui, Panama Majoring in Science. Following that, he received his Doctorate of Medicine in Jalisco Mexico at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. Dr. Anguizola was Chief of the Anesthesiology Department at both El Centro Regional Community Hospital from 1984 to 1988 and later at Bellflowers Doctor's Hospital in Bellflower, CA from 1990-1998. He is currently licensed in the states of California and Arizona and is currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support, as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider, and the American Board of Anesthesiology. Some of Dr. Anguizola's professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American College of International Physicians, American Academy of Pain Management, and the California Medical Society. Dr. Eduardo Anguizola is now the Medical Director of Integrated Health Service and has staff at numerous hospitals and in Los Angeles and Orange County, California.
